Halloween Book Gift
Happy Halloween! As much as I love a holiday centered around candy, it is a tradition for me to gift books to my nieces on Halloween. I live across the country from them and they get enough candy at school and trick-or-treating in their neighborhood, so I give books. In 2022, I started decorating most of the books I send. These were super easy to shop for and fun to decorate, so I wanted to share them with you.
The Halloween Books
I’ve been gifting books to my nieces since they were born, so they already have many Halloween books. This year I selected Crick, Crack, Crow; Griselda Snook’s Spectacular Books; Little Ghost Makes a Friend; Vamos! Let’s Celebrate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos; I Got the Spooky Spirit; and Witch & Wombat. If you want to do a project like this, you can pick any Halloween or fall themed books that appeal to the children who will be the recipients.
Other Supplies
Below are the supplies I used for this project. I already had a Cricut Maker 3 and a subscription to their design database, so I used that to cut the paper. I know a Cricut is a considerable financial expense and think this project would be as much fun without it. You could cut out designs by hand or use Halloween stickers or themed paper. Keep in mind, the children will love whatever you make and have fun reading the books.
For the paper, I usually buy individual sheets of Recollections Glitter Cardstock at Michael’s and bulk packs of certain colors like black, white, and gold because I use those more often. You can use regular craft paper if that is what you already have or prefer to use.
