Men's Gift Guide

Men's Gift Guide

Men's Gift Guide 2020 / www.sparkleonthetree.com

It can be a struggle to find gifts for the men in your life who seem to have everything. I put together this list of gifts I’ve actually given to my husband, father, brothers, father-in-law, and brother-in-law in case they help you shop. The items here are mostly timeless, so you can gift them for Christmas, birthdays, Father’s Day, anniversaries, or any other occasion.

  1. Monogrammed Toiletries Bag

This toiletries holder/dop kit from Felix Street Leather makes a great gift that lasts for years. They also have luggage tags, key chains, wallets, manicure sets, belts, and more.

  2. Wooden Jewelry Holder

The personalized hex jewelry holder from MijMoj Design is a great functional and personalized gift. They also have other wonderful gifts including ring holders, watch holders, glasses stands, coat racks, and mirrors.

3. Book Subscription

For the person who loves to read, Elliot Bay Book Company offers four different, year-long book subscription options: first editions, true crime, graphic novels, and poetry.

4. A Cookbook

Jaime Oliver cookbooks have so many great ideas for easy and delicious recipes. We have both of these and use them all the time.

5. A Good Book

There are so many good books to read. Here are four that I enjoyed this year. There are more recommendations on Books to Gift Grown Ups.

6. Kindle

For a reader who likes to travel or read on public transportation while going to work, a Kindle is a great gift. There is a regular Kindle, the Paperwhite, or the Oasis, which has an adjustable light.

One-of-a-kind kaleidoscopes from Roy Kaleidoscope come in several shapes and sizes. Some even come with different wheels to change up what you see when you look inside.

9. Massagers

A neck massager or foot massager are gifts that help with relaxation.

10. A Digital Subscription

  • Stay up to date on politics, economics, markets, life and arts with a digital and/or print subscription to the Wall Street Journal.

  • A subscription to The Economist provides insight and analysis on current affairs, international business, politics, and technology.

  • National Geographic offers subscriptions of their magazine as well as a specific history option.

  • Wired magazine has coverage of science, technology, culture, business and more.

  • Smithsonian covers history, science, art, technology, and more. They also have an Air & Space magazine.

11. Card or Board Games

There are so many great games. I’ve linked to a few of our favorites here. Another great gift is a handcrafted wooden game by David Levy Games. See more ideas on my Game Night post.

12. Game Console

If you can find the newly released Xbox Series X or PS5, those are the popular consoles. Otherwise, check out a Nintendo Switch if he doesn’t already have one.

13. Virtual Reality Headset

A VR headset like the Oculus Rift is hours of fun.

14. Coffee Warmer

Keep coffee warm during meetings or while parenting with this coffee warmer with auto shut off.

15. Clothing

A new sweater, scarf, or coat is a great gift any year, but especially this year because a lot of people didn’t buy many new pieces of clothing this year, so it is an opportunity to give something nicer than sweats.

  • Peter Millar — great quarter zips, sweaters, vests, and more. Also available at Nordstrom.

  • Barbour — wonderful waterproof, waxed, and quilted coat options. They also have scarves.

16. Hat with Headlamp

This hat with a built in headlamp is perfect for any outside activity during dark morning or nights - walking the dog, taking out the garbage, etc. It is available in 12 colors.

17. Kiehl’s Creme de Corps

A rich, non-greasy lotion that is mostly scentless.

18. A Fun Cooks Tool

A new gadget to use in the kitchen is a fun and often unexpected experience. Some items we use in the kitchen are a sous vide precision cooker, metal meat claws, an avocado slicer, and a Himalayan salt plate and holder.

19. Reusable Straw

A handmade glass drinking straw is a great reusable gift. They come in a variety of sizes and you can get one with his name on it or a fun animal or design. Carrying cases are also available to keep in the car or in a bag. We’ve been eating a lot of takeout in our car this year and it is easy to have our own straws. We easily wash ours in the silverware section of the dishwasher.

20. Baird Farm

Delicious maple syrup sold individually or in sets and siracha make great gifts from this 560 acre farm in Chittenden, Vermont.
